Productive Kitchen Garden
This beautiful school kitchen garden provides a rich learning environment for children, whilst being highly productive; providing year round fruit and vegetables for the school cooking program, with a peak in late Spring to early Autumn. Many different flower varieties are incorporated into the plantings to provide colour, joy and food for pollinators.
A focus has been building healthy & productive soils through composting and other organic fertilizer treatment, including worm farms and animal manures. Organic pest and disease treatments are used, as well as the principals of crop rotation and companion planting.
